Threading Instructions

Raise the take–up lever to its highest position by turning the handwheel toward you.

Raise the presser foot.

Place a spool on the spool pin as shown, with thread coming from back of the spool.

1) Draw the thread into thread guide using both hands.

2) While holding the thread near spool, draw thread down into the tension area and then around the check spring holder.

3) Firmly draw the thread up and through the take–up lever from right to left.

4) Then draw the thread down and slip it into the lower thread guide.

5) Draw the thread down and slip it into needle bar thread guide on the left.

6) Thread the needle eye from front to back.

* Refer to page 10 for the built-in needle threader.

Note: You may want to cut the end of thread with sharp scissors for easier needle threading.

Threading Instructions

Place a spool of thread on spool pin and raise the take-up lever to its highest point.

Pull thread through the slot of upper thread guides (1),(2) down through the tension discs (3) up into the thread check spring (4)
under the arm thread guide (5) and on up into the eye of the take-up lever (6) from right to left.

Return thread through the arm thread guide (5) down through the lower guide (7) inside the face plate and into the needle bar thread guide (8).

Thread needle from left to right, pulling about four inches of thread through the needle.

NOTE: You may want to cut the end of thread with sharp scissors for easier needle threading.

Raise the presser foot. Press the needle up/down button (1) to raise the thread take-up lever to its highest position.

1. Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread guide.

2. While holding the thread near the spool (2), draw the end of the thread down around the check spring holder (3).

3. Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the take-up lever, and down into the take-up lever eye..

4. Pass the thread through the lower thread guide. Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on the left.

5. Thread the needle from front to back, or use the needle threader.

NOTE: You may want to cut the end of thread with sharp scissors for easier needle threading.

5. Thread then is slipped into needle bar thread guide.

6. Thread needle from front to back.

Turn hand wheel toward you to raise needle to its highest point.

Place spool on spool pin over felt and lead through all threading points.

Thread needle from front to back.

Draw about 3 inches of thread through the eye of the needle.
