Necchi HD22 Sewing Machine Threading Instructions

Note: Before starting, ensure that the machine is turned off and unplugged for safety.

1. Bobbin Winding:

a. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin at the top-right corner of the machine.
b. Draw thread from spool. Pass the thread through the top cover thread guide.
c. Guide the thread around the bobbin winder thread guide.
d. Insert the thread through the hole in the bobbin, threading from the inside to the outside.
e. Put the bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle, and push it to the right.
f. While holding the handwheel with your left hand, turn the stop motion knob toward you with the right hand.
g. With the free end of the thread held in your hand, depress the foot control.
h. Stop the machine when it has made a few turns, and cut the thread close to the hole in the bobbin.
i. Depress the foot control again. When the bobbin is fully wound, it will stop automatically.
j. Return the bobbin winder to its original position by moving the spindle to the left and cut the thread
k. Tighten the stop motion knob to engage clutch.

Threading the Upper Thread:

Take the spool pin holder and insert it into the hole at the top of the machine.
Raise the thread take-up lever to the highest point by turning the handwheel towards you.
Raise the presser foot with the presser foot lifter and pass the thread in the order from 1 to 8.
1. Pass the thread through the top cover thread guide.
2. Draw the thread around the thread guide and down into the tension.
3. Then down around the check spring holder.
4. Firmly draw the thread from left to right over the take-up lever and down into the take-up lever eye.
5-6. Then down through the lower thread guide.
7. Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on the left.
8. Thread the needle from front to back.

3. Threading the Bobbin Case:

a. Open the hinged cover to access the bobbin case.
b. Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring it rotates counterclockwise when pulled by the thread.
c. Pull the thread through the slit in the bobbin case, leaving a tail of thread.
d. Place the bobbin case into the machine, aligning the marks on the case with the markings inside the bobbin case area.
e. Close the hinged cover, making sure it clicks into place.

4. Final Steps:

a. Hold the upper thread and manually turn the handwheel toward you to lower the needle into the fabric.
b. Pull the upper thread slightly to bring up the bobbin thread.
c. Hold both threads together and pull them towards the back of the machine, under the presser foot.
d. Your Necchi HD22 Sewing Machine is now threaded and ready to sew!

Note: Before starting, ensure that the machine is turned off and unplugged for safety.

1. Bobbin Winding:

a. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin at the top-right corner of the machine.
b. Take the thread and guide it around the thread guide located on the top of the machine.
c. Pull the thread end through the bobbin winder tension disc, located on the top-left side of the machine.
d. Take an empty bobbin and place it onto the bobbin winder spindle, which is situated on the top-right side of the machine.
e. Push the bobbin winder to the right to engage it.
f. Hold the thread end and start the machine. The bobbin will wind automatically. Stop when the bobbin is full or as desired.
g. Cut the thread, slide the bobbin winder to the left to disengage it, and remove the bobbin from the spindle.

2. Threading the Upper Thread:

a. Take the spool pin holder and insert it into the hole at the top of the machine.
b. Place a spool of thread onto the spool pin holder.
c. Pull the thread and guide it around the thread guide located at the top-right corner of the machine.
d. Take the thread and bring it down through the thread guide located at the top-left corner.
e. Guide the thread from the left to the right into the thread tension discs.
f. Pull the thread down and around the take-up lever, which is a metal hook located on the left side of the machine.
g. From the take-up lever, guide the thread straight down and pass it through the thread guide located just above the needle.
h. Thread the needle from the front to the back, leaving a tail of thread.

3. Threading the Bobbin Case:

a. Open the hinged cover to access the bobbin case.
b. Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring it rotates counterclockwise when pulled by the thread.
c. Pull the thread through the slit in the bobbin case, leaving a tail of thread.

* Raise the thread lake-up !ever to its highest position by turning the handwheel counterclockwise.

2. While holding the thread near the spool, draw the end of the thread down around the check spring holder.

3. Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the take-up lever and down into the take-up lever eye.

4. Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on the left.

5. Thread the needle from front to back or use a needle threader.

Threading Instructions

* Raise the presser foot. Press the needle up/down button (Figure 1) to raise

1. Turn the power switch off. Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread

4. Pass the thread through the lower thread guide. Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on the left.

Threading Instructions

* Raise the presser foot using the Presser Foot Lever. (Fig. A).

1. Raise the needle to its highest position by turning the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise). (This step will raise the thread take-up into the correct position for threading.) 1 Presser foot lever

2. Draw thread from spool through the upper thread guide. (4)

3. Place a spool of thread on the horizontal spool pin with the thread coming from the bottom front of the spool. Press a spool cap onto the spool pin to hold the thread spool firmly in place. (Fig. B)
The thread end should come from the bottom front of the spool.

4. Pass thread through upper thread path. (Fig. C)

5. Make sure to guide the thread through the thread take-up lever from the right to the left. (Fig. D) 2 Thread take-up lever

6. Place thread behind the guide on the needle clamp above the needle (Fig. E) through the opening on the right of the guide. 3 Needle clamp

NOTE:
If the thread take-up lever is lowered, the upper thread can not be placed in the thread take-up lever correctly. Be sure to raise the Presser Foot Lever and the thread take-up before threading the upper thread.
Incorrectly feeding the thread may cause sewing problems.

CAUTION: Be sure to thread the machine properly. Improper threading can cause the thread to tangle and break the needle, leading to injury.
